ARCHITECTURE, ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION

Walk through a building before it exists.

Deskside workstations and shared render servers for BIM, real-time visualisation and digital twins.

The constraint

A federated BIM model with structure, MEP and site context can outgrow the GPU memory of a workstation specced for office work. Viewports stutter, renders queue overnight, and design reviews fall back to screenshots. AEC teams need deskside memory for the model in hand and shared capacity for the renders nobody wants to wait on.

Workloads

Architectural visualisation

Run real-time ray-traced reviews of full project models in tools such as Enscape, Twinmotion and Unreal Engine. Clients see materials and daylight as designed, not as a still.

Digital twins & design walkthroughs

Load the whole model into local GPU memory and walk it at interactive frame rates. Resolve clashes in the room instead of in a mark-up PDF.

Engineering & CAD

Keep large assemblies responsive in Revit, Archicad, Tekla and similar packages.

Shared rendering

Send final stills and animations to a rack of GPU servers, so workstations stay free for design.

Systems

Deployed with

GLIDS, the GLabs Intelligent Deployment System. Workstations, render nodes and storage are installed and handed over on your site as one system.

FAQs

What GPU do I need for Revit and real-time visualisation?

Revit leans on single-threaded CPU speed for most modelling tasks. The GPU matters most for the viewport and for real-time renderers such as Enscape and Twinmotion, where GPU memory is usually the limit. We size GPU memory to your largest federated model with headroom, and pick the CPU for clock speed rather than core count.

Should we buy workstations or a shared render server?

Usually both, in that order. Workstations handle interactive design and client reviews. A shared GPU server takes final renders and animations off people's desks. Many studios start with workstations and add a render node once the queue starts costing review time.

Are your workstations ISV-certified?

ISV certification from CAD vendors applies to specific GPUs and drivers. Where your software calls for it, we specify professional GPUs whose drivers carry those certifications, and confirm the status of every configuration we quote.

Can you work with our existing licences and file server?

Yes. We build around the software you already run and connect to your current storage. Where project files have outgrown it, GLabs Vault adds a central tier for models and render output.

Bring us your heaviest model. We'll spec the system around it.
